Mumba Yachi Nabbed By Immigration.
Mumba Yachi who developed interest in music at a very tender age while listening to his mother who used to sing at church and his father playing of Zambian music legendary P.K. Chishala, Fela Kuti, Franco and many more big music figures in Congo.
THE Zambia Immigration Department arrested Mumba Yachi who is allegedly believed to be a Congolese musician Shadreck Mukenge, popularly known here in Zambia as Mumba Yachi, for obtaining an illegal Zambian citizenship.
Music has given him big and huge recognitions from NGO’s such as the UN, and other major stake holders which went as far as appointing him to be a music champion and ambassador for the HeForShe global campaign, which represents and appeals to every boy and men to be part of major cause which can lead to cause empowering women .
During the time of his arrest he actually had a show to perform, part of the Sakala brothers initiative which is aimed at preserving the Zambian heritage through music. He is also part of a selected group of local artist’s scheduled to perform at the Stanbic Music Festival to be headlined by Boyz II Men later this month on the 22-23.
An Association for musicians (ZAM) popularly known as Zambia Association of Musicians is also very much shocked to learn that Mukenge (Mumba Yachi) is actually not even a Zambian but Congolese. Read more about Mumba Yachi’s arrest
