The AFRIMA 2019 Award & Music Festival nominees list throws up a mix of incumbent Zambian stars who have continued to advance their career and youngsters who have barged through to earn their breakthrough. Perhaps the biggest growing African stars from Zambia, Macky 2 ,Trina, Mampi, Cleo ice queen, & Roberto have been on an immense rise in the past years. They will be shinning a light for in categories nominated.
Trina South was nominated in the category for the BEST FEMALE ARTISTE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA with her song “Weka”. Popular Zambian singer Roberto nominated in the category for the BEST ARTISTE/GROUP IN AFRICAN REGGAE/RAGGA/DANCEHALL with his song “Contolola”. And while Macky 2 nominated in the category for the BEST MALE ARTISTE IN AFRICAN INSPIRATIONAL MUSIC with his song “Umutima Wandi” . In the category for BEST FEMALE SOUTHERN AFRICA. Other musicians on the list from Zambia, include Mampi and Cleo Ice Queen nominated for Best Female Southern Africa.
