Sun FM 2017 Kwacha Music Awards Review + the Nominees
The Kwacha Music Awards hosted by Sun Fm are on and preparations been put in place for what is expected to be another Zambia’s big music event in the year 2017. The awards show is scheduled to take place at 19:00 hrs.Red carpet scheduled at 1800hrs or 1900hr at the Mulungushi International Conference centre .Tickets are up for sale be there and catch top performance from the best Zambian Artist’s. Voting has been open for some time now, allowing the music lovers to get a chance of voting via www.kwachaawards.org before the day of the awards 20th September, 2017.
Zambia ‘s Sun Fm radio with a branch in Ndola province (copper belt)to be held on the 30 th September this year. Kwacha Music Awards is a music platform used to give credit and honor Zambian Musicians as a way to help promote and boost the music industry with a mission,”To augment and promote originality and excellence in Zambian music production for radio airplay, by recognizing, appreciating and honoring deserving Artists with distinguished Awards”.
Consideration for the Awards draws the initial strength from Radio Stations in all the ten Zambia provinces.Including 30 radio stations which where put in considerstion and also Christian or religious radio stations and one Public radio station (ZNBC).
Kwacha Music Awards Nominations of Zambian artists, songs or albums is done through the identified radio stations and consider artists or songs for a period of 12 months to the closing date of nominations. Participating radio stations are also to have a minimum panel of three presenters who play a role of nominating the artist, song, or album in a category given. The highest number of nominations for artists, songs, or albums from all the participating radio stations are considered for the voting stage by the public.
All nominations for Kwacha Music Awards are received by members from Sun FM and 12 members from the music industry the Awards Committee, comprising of 5 , as nominated by the Artists. The preliminary analysis of all nominations received, The Awards Committee mainly undertakes and checks conformity to the guidelines for all the nominations.
